Hi, I'm Heather! I'm a children's author and content creator specializing in original books, licensed publishing, and work-for-hire projects. I've written more than 200 books for publishers and brands including Disney, Sesame Street, Little Golden Books, Hasbro, The Jim Henson Company, Penguin Random House, Hachette, Scholastic, Smithsonian, TIME for Kids, and Learning A–Z.

Whether developing an original concept or bringing an established brand to life, I enjoy creating engaging, age-appropriate books and educational content that connect with young readers. I also create workshops and live programs for writers, educators, and other creative professionals, including Tame Your Stage Fright!, which helps people feel more confident sharing their work and ideas.

What I Create

I write children's books and educational content for publishers, brands, and organizations. My projects range from licensed and work-for-hire assignments to original books and educational resources, always with a focus on engaging young readers and making complex ideas accessible.

My work includes:

  • Licensed and branded books based on established characters, franchises, and public figures

  • Work-for-hire nonfiction and fiction for publishers and educational companies

  • Original children's books and educational concepts

  • Teacher guides, classroom resources, and activity materials

  • Social-emotional learning and confidence-building content

  • Companion materials that extend books into classrooms, workshops, and community programs

Whether joining an existing publishing team or developing new material from the ground up, I enjoy creating content that is accurate, engaging, and ready for young audiences.

Beyond children's publishing, I also speak and teach about creativity, confidence, and communication through my workshop, Tame Your Stage Fright! Drawing on my experience as both an author and performer, I help writers, illustrators, educators, and other creative professionals feel more comfortable sharing their work with the world.
